Original Artwork By Twigg

Over the years I have been an -on again - off again - artist. I generally concentrate on realism in my work. My medium has been Charcoal or acrylic but lately I have tried oil and have been mixing my mediums. The below drawing is what I call a Chartel drawing. A mixture of charcoal and pastel.

Ready to Pounce

This is an original drawing inspired by a picture in the Smithsonian. It was my first attempt at a Chartel drawing. I discovered that to pull this mixed medium off, I needed to begin with the Charcoal drawing and then add the pastels. The reason is that the pastel colors do not blend as well and do not allow for charcoal overdraw. It was an experiment that I will try to perfect over time. This drawing is for sale as the original or in print.

Another example of my charcoal only work is this one that I did for a friend. Her sons dog passed away and they were both devastated by the loss. So I did this for them.

Anyway I have more charcoal drawings that I will post later. I am having prints made so the originals are out at a studio. And many of my drawings have been given to friends and relatives so they are not available for print.

If there are pictures you would like me to do, contact me at bobtwigg1103@w-link.net. I will not open JPG files as they may potentially contain a virus. Send the picture as a PDF file. If I decide to do your drawing it will generally take 2 weeks to three months to complete depending on complexity. I may want to own the copyrights to the drawing. We can argue about the price, but generally if I keep the copyrights I will only charge for shipping and materials. There may be an upfront charge to begin with but if I like the work and subject matter when it is completed I will refund all or part of the cost back to you.

This blog is an experiment in the making. Please bare with me as I work out the details. To contact me or to comment please follow this blog to stay in touch. Actually, I may stay in touch with you as the drawing moves along so that you can coach me about how the drawing is progressing. To some extent minor changes and corrections can be accommodated. Your involvement gives you some ownership in the final outcome. Having some skin in the game may be important to you later.

The subject matter is up to you. I enjoy doing landscapes, seascapes, animals, and in particular older people who tell their stories by the look in their eyes, or the wrinkles in their face. I like pictures that show emotion and an imagined or real life story.

I have another blog that I started before this one. It was intended to answer questions about a book I wrote. So far not one of the 15742 page views has had any questions. The name of the blog is: puzzlekeeper.blogspot.com. Subtitled: 'A new paridigm for the biblical account of creation and the science of everything.' Based on the subtitle you would think that someone would have a question. Perhaps they think that it is just the rattlings of an old man and pay me no mind.

I  have also finished another book. This book is a science fiction story. Just started looking for a publisher. I've also started to write a screenplay for it. Slow going though.
